RESEARCH ASSISTANT II
(1 Year Contractual Position)

DUTIES
The successful applicant will be required to perform professional research work independently and collaboratively with faculty members in the areas of pharmacy practice and health outcomes. The primary responsibilities will be to assist in various elements of the research process including completing literature searches, drafting study protocols and research funding proposals, writing ethics applications, coordinating research projects, data collection from various sources (e.g. research subjects, health records, databases), data entry, quantitative and qualitative data analysis, communicating study results to stakeholders, preparing manuscripts and other dissemination materials for publication and presentation, and other related duties as required. In addition, the incumbent will be responsible for organizing stakeholder engagement sessions and research team meetings, assisting with the knowledge translation and community engagement strategies for various projects, and supervising research students.
QUALIFICATIONS
Research experience (1-3 years) in a health-related or social sciences discipline, a completed master's degree or coursework towards a master's degree with major course work in epidemiology or quantitative research; knowledge of qualitative research methods, simple quantitative analytic skills, documented publication record, sound organizational skills, and excellent written and oral communication skills in English. Experience with statistical software (e.g. SPSS, SAS) and database analysis is required. Knowledge of medical terminology, patient-oriented research, and experience with survey, interview, and focus group research methods are definite assets in this position.
SALARY $45,383 - $63,642 per annum (Non-Bargaining)
