Pharmacy student scholarship deadlines upcoming
Two upcoming deadlines are approaching for scholarship and awards opportunities for p harmacy students. Each September, the students are honoured in a ceremony celebrating their success.
The PharmaChoice Advice for Life Awards are open to third year and fourth year pharmacy students attending Pharmacy programs at various Universities in Canada. To participate, you must prepare an original educational presentation on a current topic in pharmacy. This year’s topic is Management of Chronic Diseases and Conditions in the Elderly. The deadline for submissions is Dec 15, 2015. The Toronto Alumni Scholarship
This scholarship is being established through the fund raising efforts of the Toronto Alumni Branch of the Memorial University of Newfoundland Alumni Association. The scholarship, valued at a portion of the income on the investment, will be available to an undergraduate student, beyond first year, in any field of study who is a resident of Newfoundland and Labrador (a person who has maintained permanent residence in the province for a minimum of twelve months immediately prior to entering the University) and who demonstrates both academic excellence and leadership qualities. Based on scholarship standing it will be awarded by the Senate Committee on Undergraduate Scholarships, Bursaries and Awards on the recommendation of the Deputy Provost (Students) and Associate Vice-President (Academic) Undergraduate Studies. http://www.mun.ca/regoff/calendar/sectionNo=SCHO-0110

Students must be registered full time and have scholarship standing.
Scholarship standing, as defined by MUN and outlined in the MUN Calendar at http://www.mun.ca/regoff/calendar/sectionNo=SCHO-1240:
Scholarship standing for undergraduate students is defined as a 75% average at the end of two out of the last three semesters in the previous scholarship year and the successful completion of not less than 30 credit hours in those two semesters. In considering students who complete more than 30 credit hours in those two semesters, the average on the actual number of credit hours taken will be reviewed. Students who fail one or more courses during the scholarship year, regardless of the number of courses completed, will not be eligible for scholarships.
