About this Session
Bojan Fürst focuses on how regional development policies and programs can help or hinder small island communities. Drawing on examples of innovations, projects, and programs in Croatia and in Newfoundland and Labrador, he provides evidence for developing public policy that supports island livelihoods in this province.
Bojan Fürst is manager of knowledge mobilization at the Harris Centre. This research is a part of his recently finished graduate project comparing Newfoundland and Croatian islands. He also holds a journalism degree form Mount Royal University in Calgary, and a post-graduate diploma in social policy development from the International Institute of Social Studies at the Erasmus University in the Netherlands.
