Studies of Visual Narrative

Researchers who engage in the study of visual narrative explore the ways in which images in a variety of media tell stories and thus at once influence and are influenced by culture. In both our research and teaching, our faculty study a vast array of topics in static, dynamic, and interactive visual narratives from a diverse range of perspectives. The genres we cover include: film, television, graphic narrative, comics, illustrated books, and photo essays.
