Newfoundland and Labrador

The extraordinarily rich poetry, drama, fiction, and non-fiction from across this vast province are at the heart of this cluster, but work on the province’s artists, citizens, organizations, and movements showcases the range and breadth of faculty interests in this interdisciplinary field. At both the undergraduate and graduate levels, our research and teaching in this area clearly intersect with the strategic research themes of Aboriginal Peoples, Arctic and Northern Regions, and Creative Arts, Culture, and Heritage. The University library's Centre for Newfoundland Studies is a crucial resource, and it is the best of its kind in Canada.
