Developing academic leadership at Memorial

In 2021 the Office of the Provost and Vice-President (Academic) launched Memorial's Academic Leadership Development Program to provide academic leaders across units and campuses with the opportunities for professional growth in numerous areas of academic leadership and management.  

The program originally focused on development opportunities for deans by offering a variety of sessions focused in areas such as strategic planning, change management, budget modelling, and student support. 

In January 2024, the program was expanded to include opportunities for associate deans and department heads, including monthly networking events and access to an online resource guide. As the program continues to grow, the goal is to offer more tailored development opportunities for deans, associate deans, and department heads across campuses.
