Bio: Melanie Coughlin is Jointly Appointed Assistant Professor, Department of Religious Studies and Department of Philosophy, Memorial University of Newfoundland in Canada. She has published in the Journal of Nietzsche Studies, Philosophy East & West, and Studies in Religion/Sciences Religieuses.
She is part of an international collaborative translation project bringing the philosophy of Keta Masako (the first woman member of the Kyoto School) into English-language scholarship. She is also writing a book-length manuscript on Nishitani Keiji's critique of anthropocentrism.
