Bachelor of Science (Pharmacy)
Admission to the Bachelor of Science (Pharmacy) program is no longer available. The E ntry-to-Practice Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) program replaced the BSc. in September 2017
The last opportunity to graduate with a B.Sc. degree is in 2021.
The B.Sc. program is designed to prepare graduates for careers primarily in community and hospital settings as well as in the pharmaceutical industry, pharmacy organizations, health sciences research, government and educational environments.
After successful completion of national examinations, a graduate of the program is eligible to apply to be licensed as a pharmacist in Newfoundland and Labrador and other provinces in Canada.
During their studies, pharmacy students take part in Structured Practice Experiences (SPEs) with the purpose of having students observe and practice the skills necessary to become a pharmacist. It is intended to bridge the gap between the academic study of pharmacy and the practice of pharmacy.
