Eligibility
All criteria below must be met in order to be eligible to enter the competition. 

• The lead applicant/presenter must be actively enrolled at Memorial University (undergrad or graduate student), any campus; 
• The lead applicant/presenter must own at least 50% of the company and identify in one of the following categories: cis-woman, trans-woman, trans-man, non-binary, or other marginalized gender (If no ownership structure is yet in place, the lead applicant/presenter must be a key part of the leadership team and have a reasonable expectation to own at least 50% of the company as it grows);
• Company must not be the recipient of any top prizes in a previous MCE pitch competition (i.e. First or second place at the Mel Woodward Cup. Previous winners of diversity awards at the Mel Woordward Cup may apply);
• Applicant must intend to create and operate, or be operating, the company from Newfoundland and Labrador (NL). If incorporated (which is not a requirement), the company must be incorporated in NL.
