The ETP-Discover Fall 2025 registration is now open
Thinking about diving into the entrepreneurial world? The ETP Discover Program this Fall is your perfect starting point. Whether you are a business student or NOT, this program will offer you, MUN Graduate Students, the fundamentals of entrepreneurship and help you develop the necessary skills.
The Discover program provides aspiring students with a comprehensive introduction to starting and running a business. Its training contents include Ideation & Lean Canvas, Research & Customer Interviews, Skills Identification & Team Building, Mentors & Advisors, Business Structure forms, Resources & Support, Business Plans, Financing, and Resources and Supports in NL. This certificate-provided ETP program has two main components: workshop modules (Theoretical lessons, self-study, online through Brightspace and asynchronous) and special topic sessions (Practical lessons, hybrid mode and synchronous).
Workshop modules: There are eight online workshop modules, which will be delivered every Tuesday, starting on October 7, 2025, and you have one week (ideally) to self-study on your own time through the Bright Space, or you are required to complete all modules at the end of the program (November 28, 2025)
Special topic sessions: Eight interactive sessions are scheduled from 12:30 to 1.30 pm every Thursday starting from October 9, 2024, in-person sessions on St. John's campus and online for students at the Marine Institute, Grenfell, and Labrador campuses. These sessions will focus on breaking down the online materials learnt and doing hands-on exercises. We will also welcome guest speakers to enlighten us on special topics throughout the semester.
One-on-one or group advice sessions and support: These optional sessions are available for ETP participants and alumni who need support to develop their business ideas. Additionally, they are provided and connected with relevant resources and support from the entrepreneurial ecosystem and entrepreneurs in Newfoundland and Labrador.
For graduate students in the Marine Institute, Grenfell, and Labrador campuses, we offer you a hundred percent of the Online Discovery Program this Fall. So, please don't hesitate to grab this special learning opportunity.
Special policy: Students who cannot synchronously attend the Special Topic Sessions as required due to their recurrent study schedule conflict or children/family responsibility can apply for the special policy by contacting the program coordinator. By obtaining this policy, eligible students are allowed to review the sessions' recordings (weekly posted on Brightspace) on their own time.
Benefits: Please note that besides the knowledge and invaluable experiences in entrepreneurship and business, you can add this program's certificate (as indicated in the program's outline) to your resume to become a stronger job applicant for your career development in the near future. Besides, as an ETP certificate holder, your experience in this field will be added to Memorial's Online Record of Experience (MORE). By using MORE, students will be able to catalogue their experiences, recognize specific competencies they've gained, quantify their experiences by time and competency development and share those competencies and experiences with various academic and professional stakeholders (such as on LinkedIn)
A Certificate of Completion awaits you! Please quickly reserve your spot. Our registration form will be closed soon. Registration link: https://mun.jotform.com/252455886491268
Notes: Completing this application form means you agree for us to take pictures, record the ETP sessions and use your photos to develop and promote the ETP.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email Dr. Hanh Do at dtmaihanh@mun.ca
