The SEM and EPMA are located in the Hibernia Project Electron Beam Laboratory on the 5th floor of the Earth Sciences Building, ER 5006.

All requests for SEM and EPMA must be submitted to the lab manager, Dr. Wanda Aylward, along with sample submission forms. The booking calendar may be used to request specific dates. Any changes to the schedule will be updated in the calendar and users will be notified by email.

Users will be trained to use the EDS, collect images and maps and select spots for quantitative analyses (EPMA only). All sample exchanges and calibrations are to be done by Wanda. Images and maps will be provided as .jpegs, EDS data will be exported as Word documents and EPMA quantitative data will be exported as Excel files for easy access. All data should be uploaded to Google Drive or Dropbox upon completion.

New users must also fill out a registration form that is to be signed by their supervisors.
