The department participates in many programs for high school students:

• National Chemistry Week: Students and faculty from our department run demonstrations and activities at the Faculty of Science Open House
• We are judges at the Science fair
• We are mentors for Sanofi Biogenius Canada (SBC)
• We provide fun presentations at MedQuest
• We present hands-on workshops for Shad Valley, a four week summer program on science, technology and entrepreneurship.
• We also offer activities through Discovery Days in the Health Sciences
• We provide research experience for Grade 11 students through the WISE student summer employment program
• We participate in the FOSTER Science Program, which provides students in junior high school with hands-on science field trip opportunities in the laboratories at Memorial University.
