Welcome to the Memorial University Botanical Garden!

It's the most magical time of the year at the Botanical Garden! The Garden is glowing once again with a spectacular light display for our Merry & Bright Holiday Light Festival, presented by IG Wealth Management. The festival runs nightly from November 29-December 22. Tickets are limited and are available for purchase online only at https://munbg.online.red61.ca/event. Located in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, the Memorial University Botanical Garden is the province's premier botanical garden. Our 110 acre property offers 3.5km of nature trails, a large cultivated garden area with multiple themed gardens, a public greenhouse and an alpine house, special events, workshops, public art, camps, and so much more. And that is only the public-facing Garden!

Our natural areas, including a number of different ecosystems (fen, bog, boreal forest. pond, barrens) are an excellent resource for researchers, and we are pleased to welcome many research projects each year. As well, we see many students come to the Garden with their professors for some hands-on learning during their university coursework.

The Botanical Garden is open seasonally, May-November. December sees the Garden transformed into a magical display of a different kind - our Merry & Bright Holiday Light Festival.
