Become a Tutor
Are you looking for a rewarding work experience assisting your peers? Are you looking to improve student attitudes towards learning and writing? Are you ready to share your academic writing skills? If so, the Writing Centre would love to meet you. We offer a valuable and challenging opportunity to work with your peers to become successful academic writers in university and beyond. As a peer tutor, you will connect with other Memorial University students from across Newfoundland, Canada, and the world.
The Writing Centre hires new graduate and undergraduate tutors at the beginning of each semester. Writing Centre tutors report to the Manager. They work with the Writing Centre team where their primary role is to tutor students individually. All tutors are provided training, resources, and professional development.
All undergraduate and graduate applicants will be required to submit the following:
- cover letter
- resume
- two samples of your academic writing (not co-authored)
