Students registered in undergraduate courses shall satisfy examination requirements in these courses.

The academic requirements for the Degree of Master of Philosophy shall be met when the student has successfully completed all course requirements of the program and has passed a general examination which consists of both written and oral parts. The Dean, on the recommendation of the relevant Department (and Director of Studies in the case of the program in Humanities), shall determine the times and places for general examinations; and, on the recommendation of the relevant Department (and Director of Studies in the case of the program in Humanities), shall appoint examiners, one of whom shall be from outside the Department(s) concerned. In the M.Phil. in Humanities, a program Journal is also required.
