Department of Health and Community Services
The Department of Health and Community Services is responsible for the strategic direction and priorities for health and community services throughout Newfoundland and Labrador. The department works to provide leadership, coordination, monitoring, and support to the provincial health authority and other entities that deliver health care programs and services, ensuring the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of the health care system. The Department is responsible for administering and providing funding for insured medical and hospital services, dental and pharmaceutical services, and the purchase of seats and bursary programs for students in select health professional or technical fields, to build capacity and create a stable health workforce.
Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services
Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services (NLHS) brings together five former separate health entities - Eastern Health, Central Health, Western Health, Labrador-Grenfell Health, and the Newfoundland and Labrador Centre for Health Information. NL Health Services is responsible for delivering health and community services to more than 528,000 people living in Newfoundland and Labrador and employs over 21,000 people. NLHealthServices.ca
Immigration, Population Growth and Skills
The Department of Immigration, Population Growth and Skills has a mandate to ensure the province has skilled workers for a fast-growing economy. This includes creating a climate which is conducive to economic growth, competitiveness and prosperity. This will be achieved through a spectrum of programs, services, and supports.

The Association of Engineering Technicians and Technologists of Newfoundland and Labrador (AETTNL) is an organization that represents the interests of technicians and technologists in Newfoundland and Labrador. We currently represent more than 1,200 technical professionals in our province. Our members work in all of the major areas of our economy in both the private and public sectors.

Cornwall Community Hospital (CCH) serves a culturally diverse catchment area of over 110,000 people, which includes the City of Cornwall, the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry, and the Mohawk community of Akwesasne.

Students develop their skills through courses in their area of specialization and by writing a thesis.
Master of Business Administration (MBA):
The Corporate Residency Pathway of our MBA Program offers a 22-month innovative, industry-informed and rigorous curriculum combined with an 8-month paid work experience (corporate residency) where students make between $20K-$50k, and 92% have secured employment in their field of choice within 6 months of graduation. The goal of our program is to help high achieving, self-motivated individuals with leadership potential launch their careers and accelerate their professional development.
Master of Information (MI):
The MI degree is a 20-month course of study for full-time students. A total of 16 half-credit courses (48 credit hours) and the non-credit Practicum are needed to complete the degree. The Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) is the primary provider of information technology (IT) and information management (IM) services to the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador. The OCIO engages with the local IT industry on projects to maximize business opportunities and develop advanced technologies. Our four-year undergraduate medical program provides a comprehensive and integrated medical education. Teaching methods are diverse, but there is an emphasis on small group teaching. The size of the faculty and the student body facilitate a personalized learning environment.
Our curriculum places particular emphasis on community and rural medicine learning environments, and patient contact starts early in a medical student’s training. Memorial's medical graduates are sought after across Canada and in the U.S. and are recognized for their clinical maturity and good grounding in the basics. The Faculty of Medicine excels in clinical teaching, and has research expertise in specific areas of clinical specialties, community health, epidemiology, applied health and services research and basic medical science including neurosciences, immunology, cardiovascular & renal physiology and human genetic research.
There are 80 seats in the Doctor of Medicine Degree, 66 of which are reserved for residents of the Province. The holistic approach to application review allows applicants from diverse and unique backgrounds to be considered – academics are only a part of the big picture! The Federation supports eligible parents, Francophone parent associations, parents and member parent committees who meet the criteria of Section 23 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms in their efforts to create a Francophone environment conducive to the educational, linguistic, cultural and community development of their children.
The Federation accomplishes its mission by assuming the following mandate:
- Representing parents’ committees and associations at a provincial, regional and national level.
- Promoting synergy between committees and member parents’ associations.
- Providing advice and specific tools to parents’ committees, associations and families.
The FPFTNL supports parents' committees as well as all groups of parents interested in developing new services in our Province.

About the RCMP
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) is more than just Canada's national police service. We have been part of the fabric of Canada since 1873 – almost 150 years. We are one of only a few police services recognized around the world for both our policing excellence and our image – the "Mountie".
Over the last century-and-a-half, we have grown and evolved with and for Canadians. The result is a more modern, diverse and inclusive RCMP that serves with honour and pride to keep Canadians safe.
From coast-to-coast-to-coast, at the community, provincial, territorial and federal levels, we work to:
- prevent crime

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) is Newfoundland and Labrador’s provincial police service.
The RNC is a modern, progressive, police agency that responds to the needs of the community by seeking advice and input from those it serves.
The RNC is a fully integrated police service made up of approximately 420 police officers and 125 civilian employees who are dedicated to ‘Building Safe and Healthy Communities Together’.
The RNC operates out of seven detachments strategically located throughout Newfoundland and Labrador providing policing services to approximately 214,000 people.
Saba University offers admission in an accredited, 4-year MD degree program. The four year program is split between a Basic Science Program that is taught on our campus located on the island of Saba in the Dutch Caribbean, and our Clinical Program that is taught in Medical Centers located in the United States and Canada. Saba is accredited by the NVAO, the institution that accredits medical schools in the Netherlands of which Saba is a municipality. Additionally, Saba University is approved by New York and Florida and recognized by California.
These accreditations, approvals and recognitions enable our graduates to be licensed to practice throughout the United States and Canada. Saba University’s students also have access to US Title IV loans to pay for their education.
