Personal Profile

My research has explored the lives, experiences, and labour of working class women and men in mid- to late-20th century Newfoundland and Labrador – fish plant workers, craft teachers and domestic servants for example. My questions have focused on relations of power and the intersection of gender and class within and across those relations in the lives of women, men, workers, employers, elite, and working class. I have taught at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in sociology, including introductory sociology, advanced undergraduate and graduate courses on gender and society, and graduate courses in feminist theory and analysis.
