Advanced Social Work Practice
This course focuses on the scholar obtaining an in-depth appreciation of advanced practice of social work with reference to one or more of individual, family, group, organization, community, or social planning practice.
The scholar is expected to select an area of practice or some focused aspect of the field that will meet her/his learning goals.
The scholar is expected to demonstrate an ability to think critically about the theory, concepts, practices, and research that give direction to a specialized practice of social work.
The scholar is expected to demonstrate an understanding of the field of practice within the context of social work history and philosophy.
The scholar will be mentored by a teacher who has established some expertise in a relevant area of practice.
Prerequisites: SCWK 7010 & SCWK 7020
