Jodi is from Halifax, N.S where she completed her B.A. at Mount Saint Vincent University, and her B.S.W and M.S.W at Dalhousie University School of Social Work. She is currently a PhD student at the School of Social Work at Memorial University of Newfoundland.
Jodi has worked with youth and families labelled with a mental health diagnosis involved with the justice system, on extended stay hospital units, in short-term crisis support, and in emergency care.

She has been a teaching assistant and instructor at Dalhousie School of Social Work on campus and in the online environment. She currently teaches as a sessional instructor at Dalhousie University and Memorial University as she pursues a permanent tenure track position at a critically oriented University.

Jodi is interested in sanism/ableism/racism and their intersections in social work discourse and practice and the erasure of alternative (re)tellings of social work history, theory, and practice(s). For her dissertation she will explore the connection between dominant texts, the identity, and professional practices of marginalized social workers and anti-sanist praxis.
