Ibukunoluwa Fowowe
Ibukunoluwa holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, and has been admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. She obtained a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria.
Ibukunoluwa has conducted research and policy advocacy on the areas of gender-responsiveness of prevention and protection services targeted at children and other vulnerable populations. Working in Nigeria, she has developed and implemented programmes involving national and international partners on variegated issues. Issues she has engaged with include prevention, holistic assistance and protection of women and girls’ survivors from Sexual and Gender Based Violence, protection, and rehabilitation of children from forced labour, migration, trafficking, and other harmful traditional practices, initiatives to foster diversity on corporate boards by enhancing female representation, and protection and promotion of mining host community rights.
Her research interests include: child rights, welfare, and protection within the context of policy and practice. She is particularly interested in exploring how social exclusion, family socioeconomic status, and systemic discrimination affect well-being outcomes for children.
