Award-Winning Manuscript
Congratulations to Memorial University School of Social Work faculty member Ami Goulden, on winning the 2023 Disability Manuscript Award. The award is jointly presented to Professor Goulden and Dr. Stephanie L. Baird (Western University), for their paper “Re-Imagining Neoliberal Ideologies in Social Work Education Using Critical Feminist and Disability Theories: A Phenomenological Autoethnographic Account.”
Administered by the Council on Social Work Education, the Disability Manuscript Award recognizes scholarship that contributes to knowledge about disability; full participation of persons with disabilities; social, political, and economic issues related to disability and persons with disabilities; and social work education curriculum materials focused on disability and persons with disabilities.
The award-winning authors will be recognized during the Annual Program Meeting of the Council on Social Work Education, taking place in Atlanta, Georgia, later this month. Their winning manuscript will be published in a special issue of The Journal of Sociology & Social Welfare, titled Disability Justice in Social Work, forthcoming March 2024.
Congratulations Professor Goulden!
