Redesigned site launched
Welcome to our redesigned, mobile accessible website!
Rhonda Shortall, Memorial's sexual harassment advisor said, "The Sexual Harassment Office is pleased to launch our redesigned, mobile friendly site. This site provides users with improved navigation and comprehensive information. I encourage members of the university community to take the time to visit the site and become familiar with our content."
The new site provides information about the Sexual Harassment Office and its goal to increase education and awareness about sexual violence. The site also provides information on the resources, supports and resolution options available to the university community and shines a light on sexual assault. To this end, the Sexual Harassment Office has developed and posted a Sexual Assault Response and Resource Guide that is customized for each campus and institute of Memorial. It is important to note that the guide is meant to be read in a manner which augments and does not conflict with the university's existing Sexual Harassment Policy and related University-Wide Procedures for Concerns and Complaints.
A focus of the Sexual Harassment Office over the past year has been to promote the message of consent and to educate about shared responsibility for the prevention and mitigation of sexual harassment and sexual assault. The new site furthers this focus with the inclusion of information such as the Sexual Harassment Office's Always Ask campaign as well as myths and facts.
Ms. Shortall said, "In redesigning the website, the Sexual Harassment Office wanted to be broad in the material included. I believe the result is a site that is reflective of our commitment to building a reporting climate while also providing the information people need on things such as confidentiality, control and consent, the role of bystanders, and the process of reporting to the police, to name a few. If there is content that our users would like to see added, please let us know as we would welcome the feedback."
