2025-26 winners
Noah Hancock and Jadon Swamidas have been named 2025 recipients of the Schulich Leader Scholarships at Memorial University, receiving a combined $220,000 to fund their respective post-secondary journeys. Read more about this year's recipients.
2024-25 winners
Hailing from Bill Hogarth Secondary School in Markham, Ont., Annika Das-Pal is the recipient of an award valued at $100,000. She is interested in a science degree — specifically in mathematics and computer science — and was “absolutely ecstatic” to learn she was selected as one of Memorial’s Schulich leaders. An honours high school graduate from King Academy in Harbour Breton, N.L., Janaya Pittman is the recipient of an award valued at $120,000. Ms. Pittman is pursuing an engineering degree, with plans to major in electrical engineering. Read more about Janaya.
2023-24 winners
I am a pursuing a bachelor of engineering with a focus in computer engineering. From a young age, I’ve had a passion for technology and a natural inclination towards innovation and creativity. I am excited to get involved in all that life at Memorial has to offer.
I am pursuing a bachelor of science degree at Memorial. My interest in STEM really started in Grade Nine when I had the opportunity to be involved in a Technology Advantage Program through the Department of Education. I look forward to studying at Memorial and taking on new academic challenges and opportunities.
2022-23 winners
I am currently completing a Bachelor of Science. My plan is to complete a joint program in applied mathematics and computer science. I hope to use my degree to create a service or company that can impact people's lives for the better. This scholarship has let me focus on that without having any financial pressure.
I am enrolled in the Bachelor of Engineering program on the St. John’s campus. I hope to complete my degree in electrical engineering. I am very grateful to receive the Schulich Leaders Scholarship as it allows me to focus on my studies without any financial stress.
2021-22 winners
I am completing a bachelor of science at MUN. My current plans are to complete a major in chemistry with a minor in math. Although my future plans are not clear, I hope to find a way to use my degree to start a business which helps others. The Schulich Leader Scholarship has allowed me to fully focus on my studies, while having time to get involved in extracurriculars and other enrichment opportunities.
I am enrolled in the engineering program at Memorial University, with hopes of completing my degree in mechanical engineering. The Schulich Leader Scholarship has allowed me to focus on my studies without financial burdens and continue to be active in my community. I will be forever grateful for this opportunity.
