About the presentation: In 2018 the provincial government of Newfoundland and Labrador set out to establish a Harassment-Free Workplace Policy. On January 1, 2020 changes to the Newfoundland and Labrador Occupational Health and Safety Regulations will change to reflect new regulations mandating employers to develop, implement, and maintain written harassment prevention plans in the workplace. Yet very little research has been conducted on bullying and harassment in the Newfoundland and Labrador workplace. This presentation will examine research which examines the impact of bullying and harassment in workplace on the health of workers and will also discuss the impact on the workplace as well. A discussion will take place as to the feasibility of carrying out research in the province using the voice of bullied and harassed workers. The hope is to bring the voices of bullied and harassed workers together, through research, to create safe working environments for all employees.
