Dr. Kim Cullen
Named SafetyNet Co-Director in 2020, Dr. Cullen is an Assistant Professor with the School of Human Kinetics and Recreation and is cross appointed to Division of Community Health and Humanities, Faculty of Medicine. She holds a PhD in biophysics from the University of Guelph and an MSc in clinical rehabilitation science from McMaster University. She is also a Registered Kinesiologist in Ontario with extensive clinical expertise in the delivery of work disability prevention services to injured workers.
Dr. Cullen’s research focuses on how work and health interconnect - how work can affect health, both positively and negatively and how poor health can affect ability to work sustainably. Dr. Cullen’s strengths include expertise in advancing methods to measure and evaluate change as indicators of recovery, the design of web-based survey instruments, the synthesis of research evidence through systematic literature reviews, and the effective use of innovative knowledge mobilization strategies to increase the relevance, reach, uptake and impact of OHS research for policy and practice decision-making.
