About SafetyNet

The SafetyNet Centre for Occupational Health and Safety Research is a community alliance for multidisciplinary research, knowledge exchange and education in occupational health and safety (OHS), based at Memorial University.

SafetyNet is dedicated to improving the safety of workplaces and the health of workers in Newfoundland and Atlantic Canada through broadly-based partnerships between academic researchers and stakeholders in communities, government, industry, and labour. Our focus is on multidisciplinary research, knowledge exchange, education and the development of OHS expertise in the province.

With guidance from our Board of Deans and Directors, our Community Advisory Council, and Memorial researchers, the mission of SafetyNet is to support research, education and knowledge transfer for the diagnosis, monitoring, treatment and, above all, prevention of work-related injuries and diseases. We seek to facilitate the interchange of evidence, data, and best practices among researchers, industry partners, and health professionals.
