Registration for Engage Memorial Symposium, 2025 Now Open!

Engage Memorial Symposium 2025: Practice and Place is an opportunity for Memorial’s many publicly engaged students, faculty/ASMs and staff to share experiences and learn from each other. This two-day event is being held at Signal Hill Campus on May 28th and 29th, 2025.
This year’s Symposium will feature:
- A keynote address by Social Science and Humanities Research Council president, Dr. Ted Hewitt, addressing the question “What do Universities Owe the Public,” followed by a panel discussion.
- A plenary conversation exploring the connections between Memorial University and the development of Newfoundland and Labrador.
- Hands-on workshops about the practice of knowledge mobilization, led by national experts from Research Impact Canada.
- Presentations, panels and performances showcasing the public engagement expertise and experiences of Memorial.
