Important Policy Changes: Priority Registration Announcement for POSC and LWPP students.

Jul 19th, 2024

The Department of Political Science is making important changes to its registration process for classes.

Beginning in September 2024, all our 3000 and 4000 level classes will have seats temporarily reserved for declared Political Science and Law and Public Policy Honours, Majors, and Minors. LWSO students will also be able to access these reserve seats under the LWPP allotment, to allow them to complete their programs.

The reserves will automatically lift half-way through the registration window, giving other Memorial students the chance to enrol in our classes as electives or to fulfill diploma, iBA, and interdisciplinary program requirements. If there are students on the waiting list, they will be added by the system in the order that they have applied, until the course is full. These policies do not affect our 1000 or 2000 level course offerings, which will remain open to all Memorial students throughout the registration window.

These policies are being put in place to ensure that our declared Honours, Majors, and Minors have priority access to the classes they need to complete their degrees. It is one of the many benefits of declaring a BA degree in Political Science or Law and Public Policy.
