2018-2019 NSERC Undergraduate Student Research Awards (USRA)
USRAs are meant to nurture your interest and fully develop your potential for a research career in the natural sciences and engineering. They are also meant to encourage you to undertake graduate studies in these fields. If you would like to gain research work experience that complements your studies in an academic setting, these awards can provide you with financial support through your host university. NSERC encourages qualified Aboriginal students to apply for this award.
Science Undergraduate Research Award (SURA)
The Dean of Science Office has offered Science Undergraduate Research Award (SURA) programs. The SURA program provides undergraduate students in the Faculty of Science with more opportunities for hands-on research experience. The duration of the SURA work period is 16 weeks and must take place in the Faculty of Science during a spring/summer semester.

The Experience Awards (previously Industrial Undergraduate Student Research Awards [IUSRA]) are meant to stimulate your interest in research in the natural sciences and engineering. They are also meant to encourage you to undertake graduate studies and to pursue a research career in these fields. If you would like to gain research work experience in a non-university setting that complements your studies, these awards can provide you with financial support through your host organization. NSERC encourages qualified Aboriginal students to apply to this program.
