***After Hours, Weekend and Statutory Holidays Graduate Student Transportation****

DOS has an agreement with Bugden’s Taxi (726-4400) to transport DOS graduate students between OSC and MUN after regular working hours. Specifically this means all statutory Holidays (i.e. Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, Canada Day, etc.), Saturdays and Sundays.

Saturdays and Sundays:

Am: Pick up 10 am at MUN and drop off at OSC.

Pm: Pick up 5 pm OSC and drop off MUN.

NOTE: Taxi charges that are not consistent with the policy will be charged to the grant holder.

This schedule can be changed if the Graduate students using the service agree on an alternative schedule. Please request a Bugden's Taxi and ask for a Bugden’s invoice book which you will fill out with your name and the cost of the taxi fare, indicating that the fare will be paid by the Ocean Sciences Centre, Memorial University. Students should not pay for the taxi, provide a tip or require the driver to offer a receipt. Bugden's will bill Financial Services directly at the end of the month and Ocean Sciences will receive a copy of the invoice indicating the passenger’s name and date of transport. Taxis will only do one return ride on holidays. Therefore Graduate students must co-ordinate their plans so that they can travel together.

***Disruptions to service may occur under any of the following circumstances:***

a) Scheduled maintenance, inspections, or other downtime for the shuttle bus itself.

b) Unscheduled maintenance or other downtime for the shuttle bus itself. c) The unavailability of a driver to operate the shuttle bus for any reason. d) Any other unforeseen circumstance that may require a disruption to service.

In the event of any disruption or cancellation of service: Notice shall be sent to all students at the OSC via email listserv, using emails provided by the University or students, as soon as possible. Students will call Bugden’s Taxi (726-4400) for transportation to the OSC. Students must request a Bugden’s invoice book to fill out with your name and the cost of the taxi fare, indicating that the fare will be paid MUN SHUTTLE.

NOTE: Taxis coverage will only apply to all regularly schedule shuttle service between MUN and OSC. Therefore Graduate students must co-ordinate their plans so that they can travel together. Taxi charges that are not consistent with the policy will be charged to the grant holder and or/student.

***Inclement weather- Memorial closed***

When the University is closed due to inclement weather, shuttle users are advised to call Bugden’s Taxi (726-4400) for transportation to and from the OSC. Taxi services will be covered for a 9:00am (from campus to OSC), 12:00pm (from OSC to Campus, if required, and from Campus to OSC) and 5:00pm (from OSC to campus). Graduate students must co-ordinate their plans so that they can travel together.
