Deane was born at the OSC on March 18, 2002 and is the daughter of Babette and Tyler. She was named after the late Dr. Deane Renouf, who started the searl research program at the OSC. Deane's mass ranges from 70kg-110kg seasonally. Her distinct features include a lightly coloured harp on her back and lightly coloured mask on her face.
