Smoking Policy Consultation
In 2011 Memorial adopted a smoking policy to align with its commitment to provide a safe, smoke-free environment for students, faculty and staff. In the spring of 2019, Memorial surveyed the university community to explore individual experiences and suggestions for improvements related to the smoking policy. The survey results were used to inform the revised policy draft.
In accordance with the university’s policy framework, the revised draft smoking policy is available for consultation. This consultation began in early March 2020 but was paused because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Feedback previously received will be considered.
Members of the university community are invited to review the draft policy and forward comments to the Office of the Chief Risk Officer at cro@mun.ca or the Office of the Board of Regents at policy@mun.ca by June 18, 2021.
The draft policy can be found here: Draft Smoking Policy.
