High School Applicants

High school applicants are eligible to apply to the 4-Year Option of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) (Collaborative) Program. See here to apply. High school students are not eligible to apply for the Accelerated Option.

Priority for admission is given to applicants who are residents of Newfoundland and Labrador. However, out-of-province and international applicants are encouraged to apply.
All applicants must meet the general admission requirements for Memorial University.

Admission Averages:

Admission averages for high school applicants are based on courses completed up to grade 11 from the six required courses listed below or their equivalents (e.g. if Chemistry 3202 was not done in grade 11 but Chemistry 2202 was, we will use Chemistry 2202 for admission averages for nursing only). Applicants are still expected to have the below six courses completed by the end of their grade 12 year in order to be considered eligible for admission to the BScN program. The nursing admissions office will check at the end of the school year to ensure that averages have been maintained and that the final average is generally the same or higher. To be competitive, high school applicants should have an average of 85% or higher in these six courses. Due to the competitive nature of the nursing program, this recommended average may vary from year-to-year.
