MUNSON Faculty members receive Nursing Awards of Excellence
School of Nursing faculty members Dr. April Manuel and Dr. Donna Moralejo were recognized for their contributions to nursing education and nursing research during the Association of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (ARNNL) annual general meeting held recently in Grand Falls-Windsor.
Dr. Manuel received the ARNNL Award for Excellence in Nursing Education, and Dr. Moralejo received the ARNNL Award for Excellence in Nursing Research.
Since 1992, the ARNNL has presented provincial Awards for Excellence in Nursing to registered nurses and nurse practitioners who set high standards for nursing in the province.
For over 20 years, the ARNNL has honoured exemplary RNs in the categories of Nursing Practice, Education, Administration and Research.
Dr. Manuel teaches in the undergraduate program in the School of Nursing and was recently named to the Heart and Stroke Foundation's Caring Hearts Circle for her advocacy and education about cardiovascular health.
Dr. Moralejo is associate dean of the school's graduate program and has received national and international recognition for her research and work in the area of infection control.
