Jonathan Greenland

Radiation Oncologist | Clinical Assistant Professor

Why Radiation Oncology?
I love the teamwork in radiation oncology. The product we generate as a team is fantastic. The benefits of what we do for our patients and communities are immeasurable and are much more than I could achieve on my own. This is why I chose radiation oncology.

Academic interests
Survivorship care, primary and secondary prevention for lung cancer, refining the radiotherapeutic management of small cell lung cancer

Advice?
It is all interesting. Don’t feel like you only have one option in medicine that will make you happy. Looking back, I think I would have enjoyed almost anything that would have let me live close to the water. Make sure you choose a discipline that will fit where you and your significant other will want to work and live. Don’t forget to build in the time to look after yourself physically and mentally!

How do I spend my free time?
Sailing, gardening, photography, and a thousand other activities that I’m not great at but that I love doing!
