Learners from the majority of other clinical disciplines rotate through the adult emergency departments in St. John’s for a total of 95 learners for the 23/24 academic year and 83 scheduled for the 24/25 academic year. These include: Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Anesthesia, Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Radiology, Psychiatry, Neurology. Most of these learners will complete their ED rotation at our urban sites, the Health Sciences Center and St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital. Some learners will experience the privilege of gaining invaluable ED exposure outside the city and at a number of rural / remote sites. Several of our faculty also work at the Janeway ED, where learners gain exposure to pediatric emergency medicine.
