Internal Medicine Clerkship Rotation

The Internal Medicine Clerkship rotation is a required core experience during Phase 4. This rotation contributes to a student’s development of knowledge, skills and attitudes appropriate to the management of the adult medical patients. This experience may occur in a variety of settings including the Emergency room, hospital and out-patient clinics.

Rotation Information Overview

The Internal Medicine rotation is 10 weeks and may be completed at the following sites:

St. John’s site would be 4 weeks CTU (HSC), 4 weeks MTU (SCMH), 2 week subspecialty cardiology, hematology, Neurology, Oncology, Rheumatology.

Grand Falls-Windsor site is an 8 week Internal Medicine rotation at Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre.

Saint John, NB site would be 6 weeks MTU, 2 weeks CCU and 2 weeks Geriatrics.

Orientation

Internal Medicine Clerkship orientation is on the first day of rotation with the Internal Medicine Clerkship Director Dr. Fred Paulin and Internal Medicine Academic Program Assistant Stephanie Hunt. All details and documents are provided in advance of orientation.
