Hematology
Dr. Kirsty Tompkins, B.Sc, MD, FRCPC: Dr. Tompkins is the University co-lead for Memorial for CBD. She is currently working on a master’s degree in Medical Education from the University of Dundee, Scotland. She is a member of the Innovation in Medical Education group. She is a member of the Curriculum Committee for Internal Medicine and is acting Division Chair for the Department of Haematology. Dr. David Jones, MD, FRCPC: Dr. Jones is the Assistant Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency program. He is the Chair of the Curriculum committee for Internal Medicine and is the lead for the Work Based Assessment working group. Dr. Joanne Hickey, B.Sc, MD, FRCPC: Dr. Hickey is a member of the Curriculum committee for Internal Medicine. She is the lead for Curriculum Mapping EPAs for Internal Medicine CBD. She is a member of the Innovation in Medical Education group. Her previous academic work has included adoption of the ‘Integrated Spiral” curriculum for undergraduate medical school. Respirology
Dr. Gokul Vidyasankar, B.Eng, MD, FRCPC: Dr. Vidyasankar will be assuming the role of Chair of the Competence Committee. Dr. Vidysankar is a member of the Curriculum Committee for Internal Medicine. Contact Dr. Vidyasankar to discuss determination of competence for CBD.
Dr. Jamie Farrell, B.Sc, MD, FRCPC: Dr. Farrell is the current program director for the Internal Medicine Program at Memorial. He is a member of the Curriculum Committee and is dedicated to the adoption of CBD in Internal medicine at Memorial. Critical Care
Dr. Natalie Bandrauk, MDCM, M.Sc, FRCPC: Dr. Bandrauk is the Chair of the Internal Medicine Simulation Group and Simulation Curriculum Coordinator at Memorial. She holds a Masters Degree in Experimental Medicine (Biomedical Ethics) from McGill University, and is a graduate of the Harvard Macy Institute Program for Educators in Health Professions and the Harvard Center for Medical Simulation.
Dr. Bandrauk is a member of the Innovation in Medical Education group. She is a member of the Internal Medicine Curriculum Committee and is particularly interested in the use of SIM for EPA assessment and achievement. Please contact Dr. Bandrauk for questions regarding CBD and Simulation.
Gastroenterology
Dr. Ford Bursey, BMS, MD, FRCPC, FACP: Dr. Bursey is the Dean of Professional Development in the Faculty of Medicine. He has served as a member of the Steering Committee for the Future of Medical Education in Canada Postgraduate Project and is currently a member of the Steering Committee for CanMEDS 2015-Competence by Design project. He was a previous Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency Program. His area of interest in Medical Education is Faculty Development, and he is a member of the Faculty Development working group for CBD. Cardiology
Dr. Brendan Parfrey, MD, FRCPC: Dr. Parfrey is heavily involved in the Simulation Program for Internal Medicine at Memorial. He is a member of the Internal Medicine Curriculum Committee and is particularly interested in the use of SIM for EPA assessment and achievement. Endocrinology
Dr. Christine Orr, B.Sc., MD, M.Sc., FACP, FRCPC: Dr. Orr has recently completed her Master of Science in Health Sciences Education at McMaster University. She is particularly interested in faculty development and coaching. She is a member of the Innovation in Medical Education group. She is a member of the Internal Medicine Curriculum committee, and is the lead for the faculty development subcommittee for Internal Medicine CBD.
