MED 310A and 310B Human Physiology
Covers the properties of nerve and muscle cells, the special senses, blood and body fluids, and the nervous, cardiovascular, digestive, immune, respiratory, urinary, endocrine and reproductive systems. Integration of the body's systems in maintaining homeostasis is emphasized. Priority for entry into this course is given to Human Biosciences, Nutrition, Dietetics, and other students who are interested in experimental science.
MED 4006 – Foundations of Medical Imaging
A practical introduction to medical imaging. Planned topics include: x-ray, CT, MRI, SPECT and PET, radioactivity, radiation biology and radiation safety. There will be a mid-term test (40%) and final test (60%). The tests will include multiple choice and short answer questions. There are no additional assigned readings. Learning objectives: Students should be able to describe imaging system components and their physical principles. Understanding the main factors governing image quality.
