This award is given to a Faculty Member who has most closely modeled the role of Scholar by; Maintaining and enhancing professional activities through ongoing learning; Critically evaluating information and its sources and apply this appropriately to practice decisions; Facilitating the learning of patients, families, students, residents and other health professionals; Contributing to the creation, dissemination, application and translation of new medical knowledge and practices.

Anesthesiology Mentorship Program

This award is presented to a Faculty Member who has provided leadership and mentoring not only to the Residency program but to the Residents themselves. The recipient should display and model the professional components found in CanMEDs. These include: Demonstrating a commitment to their patients, profession and society through ethical practice; Demonstrating a commitment to their patients, profession and society through participation in profession-led regulation; Demonstrating a commitment to physician health and sustainable practice.

Dr. Peter Collins Legacy Award

Dr. Peter Collins has become a pillar in our local anesthesia community, as demonstrated by his successful pediatric anesthesia career and residency program director position. More than his prestigious academic achievements, Dr. Collins is always there to lend a hand or an ear to the many of us who call him a friend. He continuously strives for the betterment of the residents and the residency program, and his efforts do not go un-noticed to those of us who benefit the most from his leadership. Residents and colleagues often look to Dr. Collins for his support, wisdom, and sound advice. This resident-initiated award will be given annually to the recipient whom the resident group feels has demonstrated exceptional commitment to the betterment of the residency program.
