Tendering
The Faculty of Medicine uses the Public Tendering Act to secure long-term accommodation. Using the Strategic Procurement Office processes of Memorial University, the tenders are published in regional newspapers and on their website.
Wherever possible, we reach out to local community groups which may be helpful in communicating and advising of active tenders. The landlords are vital in helping to ensure clean, secure and comfortable living conditions for learners and residents during their rotations, using clear minimum requirements required for successful bids. The Faculty of Medicine regularly verifies compliance with the tender in conjunction with landlords.
Tendering has had tremendous benefits for the individuals on rotation, the regions visited by our learners, the landlords and the communities at large.
