Over the last hundred years or so my research has moved almost exclusively into Nielsen theory. Nielsen theory seeks to determine the least number of fixed points (coincidence points, periodic points) under deformation of the maps involved. This subject has applications to differential equations and dynamical systems.

Here is a selection of recent publications:

  • Equivariant coincidence Nielsen numbers (with Jianhan Guo) Topology Appl. 128 (2003), no. 2-3, 277-308
  • Fibre techniques in Nielsen periodic point theory on nil and solvmanifolds. II. Topology Appl. (with E.C. Keppelmann) 106 (2000), no. 2, 149-167.
  • Nielsen numbers for based maps, and for noncompact spaces. Topology Appl. (with X. Zhao) 79 (1997), no. 2, 101-119.
  • Fibre techniques in Nielsen periodic point theory on nil and solvmanifolds. I. Topology Appl. (with E.C. Keppelmann) 76 (1997), no. 3, 217-247.
