Abstract: Academic hiring is often presented as a structured and well-defined process, yet for many early-career researchers, it is difficult to understand. This panel discussion aims to provide a clearer and more practical view of how hiring into postdoctoral and faculty positions takes place.  By bringing together perspectives from different career stages, the session seeks to make academic hiring more transparent and accessible, while offering graduate students a realistic understanding of what to expect as they transition into academic careers.
