Vice-Presidents are responsible to the president and, under the chairmanship of the provost as the chief operating officer, they are the operational decision-making body of the university.

Vice-provost, AVPs and chief officers

Responsible to senior administration, associate vice-presidents oversee the operations of the university as established by the VPC and university’s frameworks and guiding plans.

Deans

Directly responsible to the provost/vice-president (academic), the dean of each faculty or school is responsible for the recruitment and promotion of the faculty, in accordance with the policies and procedures of the university.

Department heads/discipline chairs

The head is the chair of a department or section within a faculty or school. Responsible to a dean, a head oversees the day-to-day operation of the department/discipline and ensures it achieves the highest possible standards of excellence.
