Heritage Fair Projects:

Cassandra Colman explains how to complete a school Heritage Fair project. Cassandra is an MA student in folklore at Memorial, and created this two-part video series during her summer 2017 co-op placement with the Labrador Heritage Society, in partnership with the Labrador Institute. The Heritage Fair is an annual event for grade 8 students across Canada, with a special award given for projects commemorating Canada’s involvement in the World Wars. The Labrador Heritage Society is conducting research on the war veterans of Labrador.

Folklore Fieldwork 101:

Cassandra Colman, a master's student in folklore at Memorial University, explains how to conduct fieldwork in the discipline. These six short video episodes were created in summer 2017, during Cassandra's co-op placement with the Labrador Heritage Society, in partnership with the Labrador Institute.
