Executive Assistant

Karla Abbass (Settler, she/her) grew up in Happy Valley-Goose Bay and completed a Bachelor of Commerce (Co-Operative) at Memorial University (St. John’s Campus) from 2003-2008. During that time, she was fortunate to complete a semester at Harlow. She is looking forward to familiarizing herself with a third Memorial campus here in Labrador.

Karla has over 12 years of experience working with the provincial government, particularly in skills development, training, and employment programming. She also has community experience volunteering with the Labrador Creative Arts Festival, and the Lake Melville Minor Soccer Association, and has dedicated many years to volunteering with the Lawrence O’Brien Arts Centre and serving on the Eastern Labrador Arts Alliance Board of Directors in several capacities.

Karla is very excited about this new position with the Labrador Campus and will work closely with Dr. Ashlee Cunsolo to support her various portfolios, as well as provide assistance to the Administration Team and Program Coordinators to continue growing and expanding the campus.
