Peggy Slipp
Wellness & Success Navigator, Labrador Campus
Originally from New Brunswick, Peggy has called Labrador home since 2008. A lifelong learner, Peggy holds degrees in Psychology (University of New Brunswick) and Social Work (University of Manitoba) and is currently a Master of Social Work candidate at Memorial University. Her graduate research focuses on diverse ways of knowing and being, with a strong emphasis on inclusion and a critical analysis of the colonial industrial complex.
With a career spanning community outreach, capacity building, child welfare, community corrections, supportive housing, and legal aid, Peggy has brought her trauma-informed, strengths-based, and decolonizing approach to support Innu self-determination and community-led initiatives.
Peggy is passionate about building connections and engaging with communities. In her role as Wellness and Success Navigator at the Labrador Campus, she provides a wide range of wellness supports, including one-on-one counseling, group sessions, mindfulness training, and stress reduction resources. She strives to create a welcoming and supportive environment where students feel heard and empowered to succeed.
When not at work, Peggy enjoys gardening, sewing, baking, camping, hiking, and spending time with her grandchildren. She looks forward to continuing to foster wellness and success for the Labrador Campus community.
