Sparked by the demise of the fishery, The Battery has seen significant changes to its cultural identity. No longer is it a place where the residents all know each other and work together to usher in resources. Local resident Dorothy Hussey talks about how, over time, there have been changes to the sense of community in The Battery.

Isabella St. John has lived in The Battery since the winter of 1974 and has also witnessed many changes firsthand. In the face of such change, she has devloped a clear vision of what she'd like The Battery to be like in 20 years. She also speaks about the history of the walking trail and what living near this trail has been like for her.
