Mary Bussey is from the St. Lunaire-Griquet region, and currently works for the local harbour authority. In the off-season, when not hard at work, she spends time knitting socks, slippers and vamps-- 'vamps' being hand knit footwear that are half-way between socks and slippers.

As a lifelong resident of the region, Mary carries a great deal of knowledge on local history. Here, Mary speaks about her knitting practice alongside different facets of life and change on Newfoundland's Great Northern Peninsula.
