Nexus Centre

Memorial University’s Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences’ Nexus Centre fosters innovative, collaborative and interdisciplinary research, in conjunction with the university’s broader academic communities, and the general public.

The Centre’s goal is to bring ideas from different perspectives together to spur new thinking and new directions. Its primary roundtable lecture series, HSS On Our Worlds, fosters intellectual discussion and debate on pressing local and global questions.

The Centre also fosters HSS’ research culture for faculty, staff and graduate students through:

  • Its Research Tips series,
  • Its Bring Your Mug social gatherings,
  • Its Fall Fellowship Program,
  • Its Fall Interdisciplinary Gradute Course,
  • Through supporting writing groups and the arts in the faculty,
  • and through hosting traditional talks, workshops and conferences.
